School Supply Deals Have Started!

School supply deals at office supply stores have started this year!  I won’t be able to cover them on a weekly basis like we did in years past (this was something that I had my assistant do for the past couple of years, and now that I don’t have an assistant and have cut back the amount of time I’m able to spend working on Springs Bargains because I’m working more on the real estate side, I don’t have a time to spend typing up the best deals every week), but the deals are obviously still going to happen so I wanted to give you a heads up that they have started!

I think that you can usually view the upcoming Office Max ad on their website a day or two before it starts on Sunday – you’ll have to go to their ad page click the arrow next to View All Office Max Weekly Ads and the preview is usually listed there.  It seems like Staples also released their ads early, but I can’t find anything that would indicate that on the website.  Walgreens’ ad is usually available on Fridays here (you might have to click on View Another Ad on the right).

    I know that in the past, Staples has had their ads out a few days before they start, but I haven’t looked recently. Last year, I loved all the sales at Staples and bought 99% of my school supplies there. This year, as far as I can tell, they aren’t having any of those super bonus buys, like erasers for $0.01. But they have a lot of things that are a lower price for the entire back to school season, like Crayola markers for $0.97 or so and composition books for $0.50 (I think).

    Maybe instead of telling us all the sales, you could do a weekly post, and everyone else could share what deals they have found. I went to Walgreens this week and got the following:

    * Wexford protractors for $0.29
    * Wexford sheet protractors for $0.50 (lim 4)
    * Wexford pink erasers (2pk) for $0.25 wyb 4 (lim 4)
    * Wexford mini memo/composition books 6/$1
    * also note cards, which I think were also $0.29, but I didn’t write them on my list, so I don’t remember for sure.

    The one thing at Staples this week that I thought was a great deal was 18 packs of 3″x3″ post it notes for $10.

    Thanks for all you do!

      More ways to save for back to school

      The first day of classes isn’t the end of back to school shopping, it’s just the beginning. That’s why this year we’re helping you make more happen for less all season long. • I really like Staples’ back-to-school deals, too! I think their Easy Rebates are truly the easiest I’ve done, and it seemed like they were pretty good at keeping things in stock for the first half of the week.

    Also worthy to note: Office Max and Office Depot are now the same company with the same ad for both stores. Strange that they still have the same names on different stores. but at least it should save me driving to both stores for deals. :^ )

    Would it be possible to get a list of target buy prices on school supplies? Then if we see crayons for 25¢ we know not to pass it up. Thanks
