America The Beautiful Park

America the Beautiful Park is best-known for the Julie Penrose Fountain, but it’s got a great playground, too!  This playground equipment is a bit different from the usual playground fare, and my kids love it.

The Julie Penrose Fountain gets turned on at 11 AM and runs until 5:30 PM every day during the summer, weather permitting.  Even if it’s too windy to turn on the spray, there’s still water to splash in!  The water is a few inches deep, and I believe they have lifeguards on duty as well.

There’s lots of grass around the fountain to spread out chairs and blankets.  The smart people (or maybe the people that have experience hanging out poolside?) bring umbrellas because the sun really beats down on you.

This really is a beautiful park!  You can download a PDF of the park map here – it’s a big park, definitely one to make sure you pinpoint a specific location if you are meeting someone here!  The address of the park is 126 Cimino Drive.
