The free splash parks and play fountains in Colorado Springs are open or will be opening soon! Here’s the info:
The Julie Penrose Fountain at America the Beautiful Park will open on May 28th and runs daily from 11 AM to 5:00 PM, with shortened hours starting in mid-August through the end of the season, which is Labor Day.
The Uncle Wilbur Fountain at Acacia Park is open May 28th through August 14th. It runs daily from 12 PM to 6 PM, and may have shortened hours starting in August.
The splash area at First and Main Town Center (in front of Cinemark Theater) is now open and runs daily – the hours on this one kind of vary, so if you want to confirm before you go, you can call the theater box office to find out if it’s on.
The splash pad at Aga Park in Fountain is a 4,000 square foot waterpark with areas designed for toddlers, families, and teens. It’s located at El Paso Street and Alabama Avenue in Fountain, and it opens May 28th and runs daily from 9 AM to 9 PM (no ending date set).
And, the Deerfield Hills Sprayground opens July 1st and is open through September 5th. The hours are shortened in mid-summer so be sure to take note of that. (They are doing some remodeling so that it is why it doesn’t open until July.)
This one’s not free, but if you are headed to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo (zoo discounts and coupons here), be sure to stop by My Big Backyard inside the zoo for a cool mist!
