Bed Bath and Beyond: do they accept competitor coupons?

bed bath and beyond coupon

Ever wonder which stores accept competitor’s coupons?  I’ve been curious about this lately and have contacted a few stores asking what their policy is on this.  I’ll keep you posted as I find out!

One of the first stores I contacted was Bed Bath and Beyond.  Here’s their policy on accepting competitor’s coupons:

Our stores will be happy to accept competitor coupons. However, due to manufacturer and retailer restrictions, the following will apply:

  • The coupon must be from our competitors, home furnishing retailers who sell the same items that we sell
  • Not valid with any other coupon or discount offer
  • Not valid on previous purchases
  • The coupon may not be expired
  • The coupon is not valid for the purchase of gift cards, All-Clad, Alessi, Baby Jogger, Baby Planet, BOB, Bugaboo, Bumbleride, DKNY, Ed Hardy, ERGObaby, iJoy, kate spade, Maclaren, Maxi-Cosi, Miele, Monique Lhuillier, Mountain Buggy, Mutsy, Nambe, Nautica, Orbit Baby, Orrefors Kosta Boda, Pediped, Peg Perego, Phil & Teds, Quinny, Richard Ginori, Riedel, Robeez, Shooting Stars Portrait Studio, Stokke, Svan, Swarovski, Tempur-Pedic, Tommy Bahama, T-Tech by Tumi, Uppa Baby Products, Vera Wang, Versace, Waterford, Wedgwood, or Wusthof products.
  • Only one competitor coupon can be used per household
  • The coupon can only be used on an item that can be found at BOTH retailers

I hope this information is helpful. Feel free to email or call us at 1-800-GO-BEYOND (1-800-462-3966) if we can be of further assistance to you.

As I expected, the verbage is kind of vage – they wouldn’t directly answer whether they accepted Lowe’s, Home Depot, Michael’s, etc. coupons.  But, if you’re planning on making a purchase at Bed Bath and Beyond soon and have a coupon for a competitor that would carry the same product, it’s worth a try!

I’m wondering if the home mailed that JC Penney sends out relatively often would be valid at Bed Bath and Beyond.  Does anyone have any experience with using other stores’ coupons at BB&B?

I don’t have experience with using other stores’ coupons at BBB however, I can tell you that my store will combine coupons. I frequently receive the 20% off one item coupons and also $10 off any $30 purchase. Both say cannot be combined with other offers however my store will allow you to use both coupons in one transaction.

I never go in expecting them to do this, I always tell them I’m going to use both coupons so I will be doing 2 separate and they always offer to do both at once. Pretty cool of them, I think.

I haven’t used other store coupons at BBB, but the great thing about BBB is that they honor their own store coupons even when they are expired. I have a stack of BBB coupons that are as old as 2 years ago & BBB will still accept them & they usually take 2 or even BBB coupons in one transaction just as Jill mentioned above.

Christy (or anyone else), is there any way you would be willing to trade a 2008 20% off coupon for two, more recent ones? An item I want is now on the “exclusions” list, but it wasn’t in 2008, so I think I can get a discount with an older coupon.

I don’t have experience with the competitors’ coupons, but the stores here have always accepted coupons that are within 1 year of the expiration. And I have been able to use several coupons in one transaction..great if you are redoing a whole room or staging your home.

I used to use Linen’s and Things coupons there, but can’t do that anymore. They sold very similar products so that made it easy.

I also used to use the Linen’s and Things coupons there, and they also always let me use my expired BB&B coupons, and are always happy to combine to get you the best deals!

Not only do they accept (and even encourage you to use!) the expired BBB coupons, but they price match with ads too.

I too have used expired coupons. They are really great about that!

They also told me one time at the BBB on Powers that they will still accept the coupons for the brands that are supposed to be excluded. I haven’t tried yet because I haven’t needed anything from those brands, but that’s what they told me (although it was about a year ago that that happened!)

Rebecca Tay – I’m glad to trade coupons with you. I don’t know how to contact you outside this blog. Carrie – can you email Rebecca my email address so we can communicate?

Christy, I can’t do that because of privacy and security reasons. One of you can put your email address here in a comment, but note that it’s viewable by anyone, including spam bots. Best to enter it like this: username (at) yahoo (dot) com because of spambots.
