Eggs for 34¢ at King Soopers, plus free yogurt

by Carrie Isaac on April 15, 2010

Here’s a couple of King Soopers updates, thanks to savvy Springs Bargains readers that uncovered them!

Helen pointed out that Smart Balance Omega-3 eggs are 50% off (along with all Smart Balance products), which makes them $1.34.  Use the $0.50/1 coupon from the 3/21 Smartsource insert, and they’re just $0.34 a dozen after doubled coupon.  Stock up!

Sunny also found a coupon for $1/2 in the latest Optimum Wellness booklet (found in the produce section at King Soopers), which would make them $0.84 per dozen after coupon.  With the price of eggs lately, I would still probably stock up at that price!

Mountain High yogurt cups are also on sale at $.50 each.  Use the $0.50/2 coupon found in the 4/11 Smartsource insert to get them for free! I checked in-store and this sale runs through 5/25, I believe. Thanks, Sunny!

Also, I found peelies on A&W Root Beer and Canada Dry Ginger Ale for $1/2 – they are on sale for $1 each, so $0.50 each if you can find the peelie.  Plus, they qualify for the Digital Choice promo if you’re doing that!

KS on woodman and lexington has an end cap at the front of the store with Keebler Club, Townhouse, and Pretzel Flips (?) crackers for $1.88 with club card. There were tear off coupons $2/2 making them 88 cents a box when you buy two.

I went to 2 K.S and they were both out of the eggs :( Think they will get anymore in this week?

Just ask for a raincheck if they’re out!

Can anyone tell me how long you can keep eggs? I want to stock up but I want to make sure they do not go bad. Any ideas????

I remember Carrie mentioning a few months ago that eggs are usually good for a several weeks after the expiration date. I did a quick google search and found this cool test to see if your eggs are still good:

Just before use, put the eggs in a bowl of water. Those that float are bad and should be thrown out….those that sink are good.

Eggs last a long time. Easy test on eggs… if they float in a bowl of water, they have gone bad.

I would make sure that the Mountain High yogurt coupon you use does not start with a 9. Because it will not double. I learned the hard way. But $0.25 for yogurt is still not a bad price.

The Mountain High coupons are in the 4/11 Redplum insert, and the barcode starts with a 5 – so, free yogurt!

They do start with a 5 this time and I have already used them a few times this week, they are doubling, no problems. :)

KS at Briargate Pkwy/Union has Smart Balance eggs. I was there around 11am and they still had about a dozen cartons left.

Not sure if anyone commented on this yet… but, there are Pampers wipes refills (300 ct.) on clearance for 5.99 (reg. 9.99) at the KS on Baptist Rd…. if you buy $10 worth of Pampers wipes you get a $2 catalina coupon for your next purchase. I think that comes out to about 1.6 cents per wipe… that’s good, right?

Did anyone by any chance notice how long the McCormick Grill Mates and Lawry’s Marinades and spices are on sale?

Thanks!

OK, so I left this comment thinking April 20th was like WEEKS away – that was, um, today. So I guess they’re not on sale anymore. :) I’m sure we’ll see it throughout the summer, though!

I just came from the KS on Powers & Stetson Hills and they have lots of the SmartBalance Omega 3 eggs. There was no price tag on the shelf (prob. why there are still so many) They rang up 1.34 so .34c after the coupon! Also there were lots of great deals on the Natures Bounty supplements. They are 50% off so with a coupon I got a few different kinds for just a $1. The Natures Bounty multi vit. are also $4.99 – $3 insert = was only $2!

Kelly,
Walgreens has Natures Bounty on sale for $5 with a $5 RR. So with a coupon for $2, you will actually make $3!
Also, Nature’s Bounty has a reward program online where you can enter the codes from their products and earn coupons to print off!
:)
