Reader Karen sent in this deal that may make Disney World a whole lot more affordable for your family:
Volunteer a day of service at a participating organization and Disney will give you a 1-day, 1-park pass for free! You’ll need to register here, and of course there are a few restrictions, some of which are these:
Ticket quantities for this program are limited. You must be at least 18 to sign up. You may only sign up a maximum of 8 members of your household. Children must be at least 6 to participate in the program. One ticket per person, regardless of the number of times you volunteer.
I’d say many families would be able to get in for free, though! Hurry if you want to sign up, ticket quantities are limited.
Thanks, Karen!

We tried to volunteer at the Denver Museum with our 6 year old and were told it takes a minimum of a 1 year commitment. I am curious if a lot of the opportunities include minimum commitments.
Oh wow! That’s definitely not how they portray it, huh? I didn’t go past the page where you can look up qualifying organizations by area.
We just volunteered to make fleece blankets. It’s one per member you sign up. It looks super easy…plus we love making these blankets!! And a “do it at home” project is great! The other one listed was to collect new or used books for soldiers.
We are going to Disney in February anyways…so this is perfect!!
Liz where did you find that I only found ones hours away from the springs.
Go to handsonnetwork.org
Then click on the Give a Day, Get a Disney Day.
I just registered first, then it let me pick that opportunity!! Hope this helps!
