Great prices on meat at Albertsons this week

by Carrie Isaac on February 19, 2010

Albertsons got my grocery money this week – we needed meat in a bad sort of way and they have some great deals!  I was also able to get a 6.5 lb package of ground beef that was marked down to $1.49/lb – Jeremy was happy, we haven’t had burgers in a long time due to the lack of ground beef deals!

Here’s your deals at Albertsons through February 23, 2010.

Meat, Dairy, and Frozen

Chicken Drumsticks, Thighs, Leg Quarters, or Whole Fryers 77¢/lb
Rating: 4 for everything but the fryers… I’d give them a 3.  Whole Fryers are cheaper at Safeway this week

London Broil $1.88/lb
Rating: 4.5 – almost as low as it goes, but not quite!  Here’s a yummy way to fix a London Broil.

Country Style Pork Ribs, Bone-In 98¢/lb
Rating: 4-4.5 – boneless are on sale B1G1 free, which works out to $1.50/lb; about as low as boneless goes.

Blue Bunny Ice Cream $2
Rating: 4-5 – this brand doesn’t often go lower or have coupons, so if you’re brand-loyal, I’d stock up!

Albertsons Butter (1 lb) $2
Rating: 3

Produce

Asparagus 99¢/lb
Rating: 5

General Grocery and Household

Orowheat Bread $2
Rating: 4

A&W, 7Up, and Sunkist 12-packs $2

Cheerios $2
Use $1/1 printable
Net cost at checkout: $1
Rating: 4

Chex Mix $1
Use 50¢/1 printable from Coupons.com
Net cost at checkout: 50¢
Rating: 3.5-4

Aim or Pepsodent Toothpaste 50¢
Rating: 5

I’ll have to try to hit the store for London Broil. We have been waiting for a sale to make homemade beef jerky.

I wish we had an Albertson’s around here! I used to shop there all the time when we lived in California. Those meat prices you listed are REALLY good.

You should be able to print off a $1 on one Blue Bunny ice-cream coupon from their Web site. http://www.bluebunny.com

Warm Delights are on sale for a dollar. There are .50 coupons on coupons.com and if you have bought some in the past, there are .75 coupons inside the cardboard packaging. I’ll be stocking up.

Do you think the Hamburger Helpers are a good deal at $1? Minus the $0.75/3 coupon, that makes them $0.75 each.

Also, what about the tilapia filets, which are buy 1 get 2 free with the in ad coupon?

Yeah, I’d say that’s a pretty good price for HH – it doesn’t go on sale for less too often.

Not sure about the tilapia, depends on price per pound, but B1G2 free at Albies is usually a pretty good deal.

Can you tell me if chicken wings EVER go on sale? I usually always pick up the legs when they are on sale. My husband loves to make fried chicken! But I can never get him wings…
