Half-off printer refills at Walgreens tomorrow

by Carrie Isaac on February 25, 2010

Walgreens has a coupon out good tomorrow (Friday) only: 54% off printer refills!  If you print a lot of coupons, it might work out to be a good deal, though I’m not sure how much their starting price is.  I don’t think they do laser toner refills, only inkjet.  Thanks, Mojo Savings!

As an aside, we have a black and white laser printer and cringe every time it’s time to order a new cartridge.  We never buy the name brand, but even off-brands or remanufacturerd are expensive!  Jeremy decided that our 3-year-old, $75 printer didn’t have a lot to lose – it’s not like there’s a warranty anymore or anything – so he bought a refill kit for a cost of about $10 per refill.

And, it’s worked great!  We’ll definitely be buying refill kits from now on.  I think it’s saved us about $20 per refill versus an off-brand cartridge, and even more compared to the manufacturer’s refill.

Printer manufacturers sell the printers for cheap and make the money on the refills (kind of like razors!).  If you have a Brother laser printer, you have to read this information about tricking out your printer for a whole lot more ink!

I’m glad you had good luck with printer ink refils! We had a printer that was several years old and tried this to save money and we did it 2 or 3 times; however, our printer never worked the same and just quit working one day. We recently invested in one of those new Kodak printers and the ink is pretty inexpensive.

Black Ink refills are $12.99 so with 54% off, thats $5.98. Not sure how much color refills are, though.

I’ve done this a few times but they never seem to last as long as buying a new cartridge. Has anyone else experienced this?

Black/White and Color are the same: $12.99 – I’ve occasionally had problems w/Walgreens refills, but overall they seem to work, and at a decent price. We have a Rapid Refill, and for the same price or less, and no waiting, I think it’s a better deal!

Last time I checked, they didn’t do Canon ink refills, so I haven’t ever tried it.
