Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage – this month’s deals

by Carrie Isaac on March 4, 2010

Natural Grocers has a new ad out for March – you can view it online here. Here’s a few deals I’m seeing. I’d love for your organic experts to leave a comment with other items that you think are a good deal!

Organic Prairie Organic 85% Lean Frozen Ground Beef $3.99-4.79
- Not sure what the difference is between these two prices, the print is too tiny to read!

Organic Rolled Oats or Organic Quick Oats (2 lb bag) $1.25
- These have ranged from 77-89¢/lb at Sunflower Market, for reference. If I’m reading it right and this is indeed a 2 lb bag, it’s a great deal!

Brown Cow Yogurt Cups (6 oz) 59¢
Use 50¢/3 printable (registration required)
Net cost at checkout: 42¢
- These have gone as low as 50¢ at Sunflower, however it’s much cheaper than King Soopers’ current price of 89¢!

Westbrae Natural Organic Canned Beans (15 oz) 99¢

Pacific Naturals Organic Broth $2.29
- Not sure this is much of a sale, Sunflower’s had it for as low as 99¢ before

Cascadian Farms Boxed or Bagged Vegetables $2.19
Use $1/1 printable (requires registration)
Net cost at checkout: $1.19

They also have a produce flyer that I found, well, somewhere on their website.  It states the deals are good through 3/9.

Organic Yellow Onions 69¢/lb

Organic Pink Lady Apples $1.29/lb

Organic Broccoli $1.19/lb

Organic Asparagus $4.49/lb

Organic Roma Tomatoes $1.19/lb

Organic Cameo Apples (3 lb bag) $2.49

Don’t forget to check out the other natural  foods deals at Whole Foods and Sunflower MarketKing Soopers also has a good price on Silk, and Albertsons had what seemed to be a good price on organic milk if you can find it!

The oats are indeed 2 lb bags-we went in today and picked up those and some cameo apples. Great prices for organic.

Thanks for the Whole Foods/Vitamin Cottage update. I used to buy alot for my allergic kid there. But, I don’t have the time to just “shop” and price compare these days, so I bypass it and just do King Soopers or Safeway.

Thanks for listing Vitamin Cottage – its my main pace to shop when I do shop…which is only 2X a month.
I know you can signup to get the monthly sale flyer mailed to you, I did, I just keep recycling them in my junk mail and missing out

Great price on oats & Cameo apples & canned beans…….. will go check the whole flyer too. I love that their sales last a month and I can get there when I can :-)

Also – just FYI – they also have spices in bulk, not like WF with the bins but pre-packed bulk. If you need to refill a spice jar of oregano, chili powder, etc or something you use often – they’re prices are often cheaper then WF and the little bag refills most of my jars 2-3 times at least. If you just need a tsp or TB of something WF would still be cheaper then buying the bag though :-)

My personal opinion on Vitamin Cottage is that their regular prices beat all the other natural food stores’ regular prices, at least on the items I buy (Silk yogurt is regularly 79cents at Vitamin Cottage but 99 cents at Sunflower for example), so it’s great that you’re helping us with their sale prices too–even better deals! THANKS!
