Alrighty folks – it’s down to crunch time for Thanksgiving. Notice that this ad runs through December 2nd? We don’t usually get new grocery sales on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, so the sale prices you’ll see this week will be what you’re paying for what you need for your turkey dinner!
Double Ad Wednesday – Deals Good Through 11/17 Only
Navel Oranges 49¢/lb
Rating: 4 – been waiting for this price for a long time. I won’t pay more!
Blackberries (5.5 oz) $1.50
Rating: 4
Limes 10¢ each
Rating: 5 – about only way you’ll get them cheaper is *maybe* when they’re on sale by the pound at Rancho Liborio
Jonagold or Red Rome Apples 88¢/lb
Rating: 5 – other brands will go cheaper, but not sure these “fancier” brands will.
Green Acorn, Butternut, and Spaghetti Squash 77¢/lb
Rating: 3
ORGANIC Italian Squash 99¢/lb
Rating: 4, probably closer to a 5 since we’re in winter
Hot Pepper Jack Cheese $1.99/lb
Rating: 4.5 – not sure this variety goes much lower.
Whole Raw Almonds $2.99/lb
Rating: 4.5? – Sam’s has them for about $3.11/lb, so Sunflower Market beats their price yet again!
85% Lean Ground Beef $1.97/lb
Rating: 3
Quick or Rolled Oats 49¢/lb
Rating: 4.5 – this is the equivalent of paying $1.22 for a 40 oz container, which is a great price. Probably won’t go much cheaper unless we get a smokin’ deal with a coupon for Quaker Oats.
Dried Cranberries $2.99/lb
Rating: 4 – slightly more than Sam’s, about $2.26/lb there.
3-Day Breakfast Bargains – 11/23-25 (Monday through Wednesday) Only
Bulk Coffee, inclues ORGANIC $5.99/lb
Rating: 3.5-4
Sugar Hill Smoked Bacon (16 oz) $1.49

Rating: 3-4? Not sure how big these bunches are.
Celery 88¢
Rating: 3.5
Collard, Mustard, Turnip, or Kale Greens 88¢/bunch

ORGANIC Kiwi 33¢ each
Rating: 5
Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts $1.67/lb
Rating: 3.5
Fresh, Free-Range Turkey $1.27/lb
Rating: not sure yet, I’ll be doing a comparison of the best turkey prices soon! Looks like you may have to order these, so plan ahead. It’s while supplies last.
Provolone Cheese $2.99/lb
Rating: 4? Doesn’t go on sale often, especially not in blocks
Darigold Butter (1 lb) $1.99
Rating: 3 – Anyone know if there’s anything special about this butter? I’ve never seen it before.

I wanted to send you a HUGE thank you for all of the hard work that you do for our benefit. You must spend hours doing this, and I want you to know that it has been a huge blessing in our lives. I have never met you, and came to your blog by accident, but everyday I am grateful for this site and for all the hundrends and thousands I know I am saving as a result of your efforts. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Christina! Comments like that keep me going on rough days when I don’t feel like writing about another. single. deal.
Red Seedless Grapes are 77 cents a pound.
I “second” Christina’s comment!! You are the BEST, Carrie! Thank you for ALL you do to help us save money! =)
Since we are taking this opportunity to say thank you, I’d like to say thanks, too. My husband has actually noticed that we are spending less money these days.
Also, you asked about Darigold butter – it comes from Washington state, from a co-operative of dairy farmers/owners. I would choose it over other (regular, non-organic) brands, especially if it is the same price as or lower than the other brands.
