I’m ready to request a raincheck for the wild Coho salmon that’s $6.99/lb this week at Sprouts – what a great deal! (Or maybe they’ll have lots in stock and a raincheck won’t be needed.) They also have carving pumpkins for $3.00, black grapes for $0.77/lb, and sausage for $2.99 during their Friday through Sunday sale.
organic coupons and deals
Sprouts has grapes for $0.99/lb, vanilla macaroon granola for $1.99/lb, raisins for a cheaper price than Sam’s Club, and a great deal on lamb chops and Mahi Mahi this week.
Honeycrisp apples are BACK and Sprouts has them for $0.98/lb this week! We love to eat these raw – they have so much flavor and a great texture, and even Jeremy really likes them, which is saying something because he could take or leave apples.
Sprouts also has rock-bottom prices on all three varieties of oats ($0.69/lb!), whole cashews, and dry garbanzo beans. Mom’s Best cereals are buy one, get two free which I don’t think ends up at quite a rock-bottom price, but it’s still pretty decent and I’m going to buy a few since I haven’t been clipping many coupons lately to get other brands for less.
Well, I thought $0.88 was a great deal for yellow bell peppers at King Soopers this week, but Sprouts has them, plus red and green, for $0.49! They also have black seedless grapes for $0.69/lb, and good deals on lettuce, spinach, hothouse cucumbers, and eggplant.
Sprouts has Gala and Granny Smith apples for $0.48/lb this week – hooray for apple season! They are also still running their buy one, get one free sale; which is usually not going to be a great deal on items that go on sale at other stores frequently, but is often a good deal on some of the brands where the sales are less frequent. For example, last week Elizabeth mentioned that she’s stocking up on Muir Glen organic pasta sauce at buy one, get one free – that’s definitely not an item that goes on sale often at other stores!
The Gazette is speculating that a new Sprouts is going to be going in at Voyager and Northgate! You can read the full article here. I can’t say that it would change which Sprouts I normally shop at since the other location is so close to Sam’s Club, but I think that more Sprouts stores are a good thing, regardless of where they are! (And it’s way more exciting to me than Trader Joe’s. ;)
Anyway, so this week Sprouts has tomatoes for $0.48/lb + more deals. I made this Sweet and Smoky Salsa (sorry, it’s members-only site, but you can also find it in the Cook’s Illustrated Cookbook) with some of these tomatoes a couple of weeks ago and it was really good.
They also have a bunch of buy one, get one free deals – I included a few in the list below that I thought might be a decent deal, but the shelf price isn’t listed in the ad so it’s hard to tell for sure how good of a deal they are. However, if it’s a brand that almost never goes on sale at other stores, it’s probably a great deal.
Sprouts finally has sausage on sale for $2.99/lb – a price we used to see every other week, but I don’t think we’ve seen it since May this year (especially not all varieties). I hope they will have a lot in stock!
The top deals at Sprouts this week include Palisade peaches for $1.48/lb – not as cheap as they were on the weekend sale a couple of weeks ago, but still a pretty great price for local peaches. I finally got around to doing something with the peaches I bought on that weekend sale (yes, they were more than ripe!) and made Honey-Sweetened Peach-Vanilla Jam and am in the process of making some peach butter. The jam is really good!
I noticed that Sprouts has changed the shelf price on their sausage from the butcher counter from $3.99/lb to $4.99/lb and they definitely haven’t been doing as many $2.99/lb sales lately. I hope they do one soon (there’s no $2.99/lb sale this week) because I really liked being able to just throw the main dish on the grill with no prep and we haven’t done that nearly as much with the price increase and fewer sales.
