Veteran’s Day Discounts & Veterans Eat Free

Veteran’s Day is Friday, November 11th, 2016.  To honor our military, many businesses give discounts and free meals to veterans on this day.  Please be sure to confirm that your location is participating, as many are “participating locations only”.

Veterans Eat Free and Restaurant Deals on Veterans Day 2016

Applebee’s: Free meal for veterans and active-duty military on Friday, November 11th. Usually from a select menu but I could not find mention of that this year.

Black Bear Diner: Free chicken fried steak for veterans on November 11th.  May vary by location.

Bonefish Grill: No official announcement of an offer for 2016.  In 2015, they offered a free Bang Bang Shrimp with coupon on Veterans Day but that has not been confirmed for 2016.

Bubba’s 33:No official announcement of an offer for 2016.  In 2015, they offered a free meal for veterans from a selected menu

California Pizza Kitchen: Free meal from a special menu for veterans on November 11th.  See the menu here.

Caribou Coffee: Free small coffee on Veterans Day.

Carrabba’s: Free appetizer for military from November 7th through November 13th.  Must mention the offer to redeem.

Chipotle Mexican Grill: Buy one, get one free on Veterans Day; details here.

Cracker Barrel: Free Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake on Veterans Day; info here.

Chick-fil-A (N. Carefree and N. Academy locations ONLY): Free Chick-fil-A sandwich or spicy sandwich for military and their families on Veterans Day.

Chick-fil-A (Garden of the Gods and Fountain locations ONLY): Free entree of choice for military and their families on Veterans Day.

Del Taco: No official announcement of an offer for 2016 though they have offered a freebie in the past.

Denny’s: Free Build Your Own Grand Slam from 5 AM to noon on Veterans Day only.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit: Free sandwich, side, and Big Yellow Cup on Veterans Day, plus everyone in your party also receives a free Big Yellow Cup.




Einstein Bros: Free bagel and shmear for veterans, with any purchase.

Fazoli’s: No official announcement of an offer for 2016.

Famous Dave’s (COLORADO ONLY): Free Georgia Chopped Pork Sandwich and side on Veterans Day, no substitutes.

Friendly’s: Free breakfast (Big-Two-Do), lunch, or dinner (All American Burger, served with fries and a beverage) on Veterans Day.

Golden Corral: Free dinner for veterans on Monday, November 14th from 5-9 PM. More info here.

IHOP: Free pancakes for veterans from 7 AM to 7 PM on Veterans Day.

Krispy Kreme: Free donut and small coffee to veterans on November 11th, according to their Facebook page.

Lulu’s Frozen Yogurt: $5 discount for military, valid through Sunday, November 13th.

McCormick & Schmick’s Steakhouse: Free entree from a select menu for veterans on Sunday, November 6th. Reservations are recommended; see all the details here.

MOD Pizza: Free MOD size pizza or salad on Veterans Day.

Old Chicago: Free appetizer up to $12 for veterans.

Olive Garden: Free meal for veterans on Veterans Day; from a select menu only. I have not seen this one advertised officially by Olive Garden.

On the Border: Free meal with presentation of military ID on Friday, November 11th. Details for this offer are on their website.

Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt (COLORADO SPRINGS ONLY): $2 off any purchase on Veterans Day.

Outback Steakhouse:I have not seen it officially announced, but in past years they offered a free  Bloomin’ Onion with presentation of military ID on Veterans Day.  Please call ahead to confirm this for 2016.

Panera Bread (COLORADO ONLY): Free bagel, cream cheese, and coffee for veterans on Veterans Day.

Pie Five: Free pie on Veterans Day.

Red Robin: Free Tavern Double Burger and bottomless fries on Veterans Day.  Details here.

Red Lobster: Free appetizer or dessert for military on Thursday and Friday, November 10th and 11th.


Steak and Shake: Free Homestyle Breakfast for veterans from 6 AM to 11 AM on Veterans Day.

Taco Bueno: Free Taco Burger for veterans at participating locations only.

Texas Roadhouse: Free lunch for veterans. Choose from a special menu of ten entrees as listed here.

Tucano’s Brazilian Grill: Free Churrasco meal with the purchase of another from November 10th through 12th.  Veterans appearing by themselves will receive a meal at half-price. Cannot be used with birthday freebie.

Zio’s: Free appetizer (some exclusions) on Veterans Day.

Other restaurants such as Arby’s, Starbucks, Black-Eyed Pea, Famous Dave’s, Fish City Grill, and HuHot have done military appreciation deals or veterans eat free in the past, but I could not yet find information on what they are offering for 2016.

Dinosaur Resource Center in Woodland Park: Half-priced admission for veterans on Veterans Day.

Great Clips: Free haircut for veterans on Veterans Day, or, anyone can stop by on Veterans Day to pick up a card for a free hair cut to pass along to a veteran you know. More info here.

National Parks: Free admission to everyone on Veterans Day – Friday, November 11th.
