Safeway deals: January 4-11

Published January 5, 2009 by Carrie in Grocery Deals

safeway

There’s a new Safeway ad out this week and some nice “Super Coupons” without limits!

Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts or Thighs $1.99/lb – Not a rock-bottom price (they were cheaper a couple of weeks ago), but definitely a price I’d buy them at. I won’t pay more than this, but since I don’t have a deep freezer to stock up when they’re at rock-bottom price this, to me, is an acceptable price.

Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes $2.50 – There’s $1/1 coupons out there, printables or inserts, I think.  And I’m hearing that they might be doing a buy 5 get $5 off deal on cereal which would make these better-than-free, but I haven’t tested it out myself and I have no details other than rumors.  Anyone know if this is tagged in store and how long the promo goes?

Fresh Express Salads $2 – Good deal if you have coupons.

…………………………

SUPER COUPONS – No limit, minimum $10 purchase.

…………………………

Dole Fruit Bowls $1.49 – Do I have coupons for this somewhere?  I’m too lazy to look.  Might be a good deal.

Garnier Fructis Shampoo, Conditioner, or Styler $2.49 – Use $1 coupons to get this for $1.49.  Lowest price in town (I know, ’cause it’s the only thing I use on my hair :).

Nature Valley Granola Bars $1.50 – Use $.50/1 newspaper insert coupons or $.60/1 Coupons.com printable to get these for $.50 (both $.50 and $.60 coupons will double to $1).

Skippy Peanut Butter $1.49 – Use $.40/1 insert coupon, doubled to $.80, to get these for $.69 each.

Tostitoes Tortilla Chips $1.88 – No coupons out that I know of, but they’re currently three bucks at WalMart so you’ll definitely get a better deal at Safeway this week.

Kellogg’s Pop Tarts $.99 – Watch out for peelie coupons to potentially get these for free.  I think my $.55/1 coupons just expired, so I probably won’t buy these because I know I can get them for free at some point.  Not that we eat Pop Tarts.  No, ma’am.  They go straight to the donations box, especially the chocolate fudge ones because no way a pregnant woman should be eating those.  *ahem*

These deals are good through January 11th.
