Nothing too exciting in today’s Safeway ad, but a few things worth mentioning. Don’t forget about the other deals going on through Sunday.

Limitless Super Coupons, $10 minimum purchase required
……………………………………
Honey Nut Cheerios, Cheerios, or MultiGrain Cheerios $1.50 – Use $.55/1 printable coupon to get Cheerios for $.50 each. [I think this printable has now “expired” and isn’t available for printing anymore; hopefully you have some already printed!] I won’t typically pay more than $.50 a box for cereal (unless it’s Quaker Oatmeal Squares or something that’s actually *gasp* healthy). You can also print an $1/2 coupon here to get them for $1 a box. Or see my note at the bottom of this post about the buy 5 boxes of cereal save $5 instantly deal.
Red Delicious Apples 5 lb bag $2.95 – Fifty-nine cents a pound? Anyone feel like doing some canning?
JennieO Ground Turkey 20 oz $2.49 – I don’t buy ground turkey so I have no clue if this is a good price or not. But it might be.

Juice and Juice Drinks: Buy Any 5 Save $5 – Various brands participating. Ocean Spray juices are $1 each, or FREE with the $.55/1 coupon that just came out. Juicy Juice and Motts are two other participating brands that have coupons out. This deal was actually marked in-store, at least at my location.
Fuze Bottled Beverages $1 – You should be able to get this for free using $1/1 coupons that came in a special King Soopers flyer a couple of weeks ago. The coupons are manufacturer’s coupons so they should be able to be used at Safeway.
Bing Cherries $2.99/lb – I typically don’t buy these until they’re around $1/lb, but this is not a bad price for off-season cherries if they’re any good. Just remember they weigh a lot more than you think. :)
Russet Potatoes 8 lb bag $3.99 – Potatoes are cheaper at King Soopers this week, but this is an OK price. Personally I feel like the price of potatoes is right up there with gold lately.
I’ve been reading at Hot Coupon World about the Buy 5 Participating Cereals Save $5 Instantly deal. There were hangtags in the aisles at my store this morning, but no individual products were marked, with the exception of Kellogg’s NutriGrain bars. Listed on the hangtags were Quaker Life, Kellogg’s Raisin Bran, Post Honey Bunches of Oats, Kellogg’s Frosted MiniWheats, and GM Cheerios, with a note to see store for more participating products or something like that.
The cereals are SUPPOSED to be on sale for $2.50, so when you buy 5 and save $5 they’d be $1.50 before any coupons you may have. I, however, did not find any cereals that were marked $2.50 and the set of 5 cereals I tried (MiniWheats and Crispix) didn’t work for the $5 off.
I THINK this could be a really great deal if you buy Cheerios using the limitless super coupon as noted above, but I haven’t tried it and can’t say whether or not it’s working. This is why I have such a love/hate relationship with Safeway: they have some awesome deals, but rarely are they all tagged properly in-store and even if they are they don’t usually ring up right.
If you’ve tried this deal and had it work for you I know a lot of us would appreciate the information! Hmm, and is anyone else wondering what they’re gonna eat this week besides cereal and juice?
