Some nice deals at Safeway this week. A little disappointed there’s no sign of the Savings Rally they did last year at this time… Stocked up on canned beans and tomatoes for $.20 a can and I’ve still got a few cans left! :) Oh well, no sense waxing nostalgic about grocery sales!
BTW, when I post coupon matchups I am assuming that the Safeway store you shop at doubles coupons. Please add your deals in the comments!
• Whole Sanderson Farms Chicken $.79/lb – Finally a sale on whole chickens! Great price; I think the least I’ve ever paid was $.59 but I haven’t seen a sale on chickens in quite a while, it seems.
• Fresh Green Asparagus $1.28/lb – A good price, but King Soopers is even lower this week.
• 2 lb Bag Lemons $2.50 – Probably not as cheap as an ethnic market, but definitely cheaper than buying individual lemons.
• 1 Dozen Lucerne Large Eggs $.99 – Good price these days!
• Starkist Chunk Light Tuna Pouch 3/$4 ($1.33 each) – These are a great deal! You’ll need to find the $1/2 store coupon from the Love Your Heart coupon booklet, or you can print it here. Use the manufacturer’s coupon for buy 2 get 1 free, and when you buy three you’ll get them for $.55 each. It would go like this:
3 tuna pouches = $4
Minus $1/2 store coupon = -$1
Minus Buy 2 get 1 free manufacturer’s coupon = -$1.33
Total for three pouches = $1.67 (about $.56 each)
• Owen’s Breakfast Sausage Roll $2.50 – Use $.35/1 to get for $1.80.

Super Coupons (can be used with manufacturer’s coupons)

• Mission Tortilla Chips $.99
• Kellogg’s Frosted Mini Wheats OR Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks 4/$6 ($1.50 each) – For Frosted Mini Wheats, you can use two $1.50/2 coupon to get four for $.75 each.
The fruit snacks are a good deal with a catalina (checkout) coupon promotion that’s running – you’ll get a coupon for $2.50 on your next order when you buy four Fruit Shapes, Fruit By the Foot, Fruit Gushers, Fruit Roll-Ups, or Fruit Roll-Ups Fruit Stickerz.
The manufacturer coupons are for $.50/2 and hopefully you have two of those coupons. Here’s how the math would work:
4 Betty Crocker fruit snacks WITH in-ad coupon = $6
Minus two $.50/2 coupons *doubled* = – $2
Total out of pocket at checkout = $4Minus $2.50 coupon you should receive for use on your next order = – $2.50
Net Cost = $1.50 for four boxes
• Red Baron Single Serve Pizza $2/4 – I have a $1.50/2 coupon that I got from somewhere, so these *might* be a good deal, I’ll have to see how big these are.

President’s Day 4-Day Sale – Saturday through Tuesday ONLY

• Safeway Select Ice Cream $2.49
• Fuji Apples $.88/lb
