Safeway deals this week: February 18-24

Here’s a few highlights from Safeway this week.   As always, I’m only mentioning items that are a good deal when matched up with the price database in my head!

•   Lucerne Gallon Milk $1.77 (limit 2) – If you have room for milk in your freezer, stock up while the cows are being generous.

• Breyer’s Ice Cream $2.49 – Pretty close to the lowest it will get.

•   Rancher’s Reserve Beef Chuck 7 Bone Pot Roast $1.59/lb

•   80% Lean Ground Beef $1.99/lb – My buy-enough-to-last-a-few-weeks price but not my stock-up-for-three-months price.

•   Boneless Pork Sirloin Chops $1.99/lb

•   Primo Taglio Black Forest Ham or Pam Roasted Turkey $4.99/lb – Seems like I never see sales on meat from the deli, but this is actually a pretty decent sale price!

•   5 lb Clementines $4.88 – *If* these are “California Cuties”, you can use $1 coupon to get for $3.88.   I think Safeway might carry a different brand, though.

• Red Bell Peppers 99 ¢ each – Only place to get them cheaper at this time of year is an ethnic foods store.

• Ragu Pasta Sauce 99 ¢ – Great deal when combined with 50 ¢/2 coupon.   It’s a great deal even without a coupon!

• Hunt’s Manwich 99 ¢ – Another good deal if you have a 50 ¢/2 coupon… 50 ¢ each after a doubled coupon.

And finally, a Buy 5 save $5 promotion for Oscar Mayer products.   I don’t see anything too exciting here, unless you happen to have five $1 off coupons for Deli Creations sandwiches, which would make the 50 ¢ each when you buy five with five coupons. Maybe we’ll get some coupons for OM products on Sunday.   Be on the lookout for more Oscar Mayer products in-store – often these promos have participating items that are not featured in the ad.
