King Soopers is a little sparse on deals this week… but I think we’re gonna be OK because Safeway looks great! I plan to post ad reviews for Safeway and Albertsons tomorrow and show you my weekly menu based on these sales.
Meat, Dairy, and Frozen:
- 96% Lean Ground Beef (5 lb box) Buy One Get One Free – This is $5.49/lb, so at buy one get one free it’d be $2.25/lb, an OK price. Keep in mind that this will be a large chunk of money since you’ll buy five lbs at $5.49 ($27.45) and then get five free. Debka commented below and let me know that at her store they had a correction notice up, and it’s actually the 1 lb packages on sale!
- Yoplait Yogurt 50 ¢ – A pretty average sale price. You can buy six and use the 40 ¢/6 coupon, which brings it down to 36 ¢ per cup when you buy six. Not something I’d stock up since this sale and coupon are very frequent occurences, but if you need yogurt it’s a good price.
- Large Eggs $1.49 (18 ct) – This hits my current target price of $1 per dozen.
Produce:
- Cuties Mandarins $4.99 for 5 lbs OR $3.99 for 3 lbs – We gotta do some math here. The 5 lb bag is obviously cheaper without a coupon. If you use the $1/1 coupon on the 5 lb box, it’s then $3.99 or 80 ¢/lb. If you use the 55 ¢/1 coupon on the 3 lb bag, it’s $2.99. Whoops, that’s $1/lb, so in this case the 5 lb box is cheaper any way you look at it, coupons or not.
- Strawberries Buy One Get One Free – Works out to $2.50/lb; a little too much for me. (Albertson’s has a great deal on strawberries this week if you’re headed there!)
- Sno-White Mushrooms $1 (8 oz) – We are a non-mushroom family, but this seems to be a decent price in my limited experience.
- Eggplant $1 – Anybody else wonder why the sudden marketing push for eggplant lately? Probably a good price.
- Organic Cameo Apples $1/lb – This and the following organic produce items are pretty good deals. My target prices for non-organic produce are less but these are nice for organic.
- Organic Mini Peeled Carots $1 (1 lb bag)
- Organic Northwest Green Pears $1/lb
- Organic Mangoes $1 each
General Grocery and Household:
- Quaker Instant or Simple Harvest Oatmeal $1.50 – Have to buy two to get this deal, it’s actually “buy two get $1 off”. Use two $1 or 50 ¢ coupons and get them for 50 ¢ each. Last week I noticed there are boxes of Quaker instant oatmeal that have coupons inside – look for the specially marked packages.
- Pillsbury Cake Mix 88 ¢ – *If* the reduced sugar cake mixes are included, you could buy two and use $1/2 coupon to get them for 38 ¢ each; a pretty good price for cake mixes this time of year.
- Powerade 69 ¢ – I’d buy whatever you need to last a few weeks, but I shoot to pay around 50 ¢ or less for this.
- Kuner’s Canned Vegetables 50 ¢ – I don’t buy canned veggies so I don’t know a good price for this. They’re regularly $1.09, so it’s probably a decent deal.
- Tropicana Pure Premium Orange Juice $1.99 – Buy two and use $1/2 to get two for $1.49 each.
- Quaker Quakes 99 ¢ – Use $1 coupons to get free!
- Emergen-C $7.99 – This is not that great of a sale, but I’d just like to say I’m a little aggravated that I bought some at WalMart this week and paid more.
- Purex Laundry Detergent $2.99 – Use $1/2 insert coupons to get for $2.49, or use this printable to get Purex Natural Elements for $1.99
Don’t forget to add CellFire or Shortcuts coupons to your Sooper Card before you head to the store! This weekly ad review is part of The Grocery Gathering at BeCentsable. Thanks for stopping by!
