It’s getting harder and harder to eat for under five bucks these days, even at fast food restaurants! Five dollars is a pretty big price point for me; I’ll grab a quick lunch occasionally if I can eat for less than $5 – over $5 is the “you should feel guilty about spending this money on lunch” mark for me. :)
But, TGIFriday’s is rolling back the prices on ALL it’s sandwiches and salads to five dollars for the entire month of May. I think this is seriously a good deal if you eat out. I’m guessing Jeremy and I will go on a date there at some point next month, and if he takes a client out to lunch TGIFriday’s just jumped to the top of the list. Let’s hope it’s such a roaring success that other restaurants join in!
Don’t forget that you can also sign up for the TGIFriday’s Give Me More Stripes club and get a coupon emailed to you for a free appetizer, plus lots of other great coupons.
Relatedly, Chipotle is testing cheaper menu options in Denver, and Chili’s also recently unveiled a new $7 menu with ten new entrees. I’m a little suspicious that “perfectly portioned” means “smaller”, but it might be worth checking out. You’ll get a coupon for free chips and queso when you sign up for the Chili’s e-club.
