King Soopers weekly deals: April 1-7

Published April 1, 2009 by Carrie in Grocery Deals

King Soopers reeeeeeeally wants to fatten us up, because they’ve got another hot butter sale this week!   Maybe SlimFast will be on sale next week? :)

If you’re new to shopping at King Soopers, you’d probably find the King Soopers FAQ helpful.   By the way, unless I indicate otherwise, all the coupons are from newspaper inserts.   If it’s a printable coupon, I’ll link to it and if it’s from elsewhere, I’ll explain how I got it.

3 Day Sale – Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Only:

  • 8 Piece Fried Chicken $4.99 – Good price. (Safeway has a similar special every week.)
  • Ball Park Meat Franks 99 ¢ – Hooray, the hotdog sales are beginning!   Use $1/2 to get for 50 ¢ each.   Awesome price!
  • King Soopers Buns 50 ¢ – Great price, and if you have one of the coupons from the recent King Soopers mailer they’re even cheaper!
  • Kroger Mustard 50 ¢ – I do not pay for yellow mustard, period. You should be able to get it free during the summer.
  • Nabisco Snack Crackers $1.77 – Buy Wheat Thins or Triscuit and use $1/2 to get them for $1.27 each.   Pretty good price, though they’re cheaper at Albertsons this week.

Meat, Dairy, and Frozen:

  • Boneless Chuck Roast 50% off ($2.50/lb) – Good price, I wouldn’t pay more than this though.
  • Mixed Pork Chops $1.49/lb – Good price.
  • Note: hams and turkeys are on “sale” but I would wait another week to buy your Easter ham; we should get a better sale next week.
  • Colorado Proud Milk $1.77/gallon – Best price in town this week!
  • Land O Lakes Butter $1.99 – Use 55 ¢/1 newspaper coupon or 55 ¢/1 printable coupon from SmartSource.com to get for $1.   (Make sure you buy the variety the coupon specifies.)   This is a stockpile price for me!
  • Bertolli Pasta Dinners $4.98 – Use $1/1 to get for $3.98.   A great price for these, I think.

Produce:

  • Avocadoes 10/$10 – My target price, won’t pay more.
  • Celery 79 ¢/lb – Is it just my imagination or did they just start charging by the pound instead of by the each for celery?   I don’t think this is a good price, but I could be wrong.   Celery experts, please comment!
  • Cucumbers 2/$1 – Target price.
  • Green Bell Peppers 69 ¢ – My target price, I won’t pay more for green peppers.
  • Kiwi 3/$1 – You can get a better deal when they have bags of kiwi on sale for $1/bag.
  • Organic Oranges 99 ¢/lb – A good price for organic, NOT for conventionally grown oranges.
  • Organic Pears or Organic Apples (Granny Smith or Braeburn) 99 ¢ – A good price for organic or conventional apples or pears.

General Grocery and Household:

  • Tree Top Apple Juice Buy One Get One Free + Free Dozen Eggs – Edit: At first I didn’t think this was a good deal because I didn’t think you could use a $1/2 coupon on a BOGO free item, but apparently you can – so use a coupon for $1 off two Treetop products and get the eggs free – works out to $2.79 for two bottles juice and 1 dozen eggs.   Thanks to those of you who helped me out on the coupon thing!
  • Pillsbury Refrigerated Dough 4/$5 – I *think* the buy four save $1 sale is still going on; if so, these would be $1 each before coupons, and depending on what coupons you have and what varieties you buy, you could get them for 30-70 ¢. If anyone can confirm the buy 4 save $1 instantly promo is still going on that would be great!   (Edit: there are some Pillsbury coupons in the Coupons.com widget below.)
