I don’t see a lot at Albertsons this week. There’s a few *ok* buys, but nothing really great. By the way, when I say to wait for a better price, that better price might come at a different store. Though I’d love to be loyal to a particular store, I have to get the best deals for my family so that means I shop at different stores every week. At my workshops, I tell people that you don’t have to shop at five stores every week, but to be smart about how you do it and be flexible depending on has the best deals that week. This would be a week I’d definitely skip Albertsons in favor of deals elsewhere.
Also, this has more to do with all the weekly deals than Albertsons, but I’m working on starting a database of prices so I can tell you better how good the deals are, especially for different cuts of meat. My brain is about to explode with grocery prices.
Meat, Dairy, and Frozen:
- Bone-In Ribeye Steaks $4.97/lb – Great price! (Boneless are $5.97/lb, which is also a good price.)
- Moran’s Ground Beef Patties 96% Lean BOGO Free – These would be $2.50/lb, which probably a pretty good price for this lean of beef.
- Meadow Gold Ice Cream $2 – Good price, can get name brand for the same price if you can wait.
- Albertsons Gallon Milk $1.88 Limit Two
- Albertsons Butter $2 (16 oz) – Hopefully you stocked up on butter for way less over Easter, but if not this is an OK price. Comes around pretty often.
- Yoplait Yogurt Multi-Packs $2 – Various of these varieties have $1/1 coupons making them $1 each and a decent deal.
Produce:
- Artichokes $1.50 – I wouldn’t pay more than $1 for these.
- Seedless Watermelon 27 ¢/lb – Great price!
General Grocery and Household:
- Campbell’s Chicken Noodle or Tomato Soup 50 ¢ Limit Four – I don’t think there are any coupons out there for this. There is one for $1/2 here, but that is for cooking soups and should not be used on Tomato or Chicken Noodle unless they are cooking soups, which I don’t think they are. (The label should say.)
- Ken’s Dressing $1.99 – Use $1/1 to get for 99 ¢. I’d wait for a better price.
- Capri Sun Juice Drinks $2 – Use $1/1 to get certain varieties for $1. Cheaper elsewhere (WalMart even, I think).
- General Mills Cereal $1.50 – You can use the 55 ¢/1 printables from Coupons.com to get for 95 ¢. A decent price, wouldn’t pay more, but if you’re just getting started it’s probably a good buy. Keep in mind that Albertsons does *not* double coupons.
