June is the time that farmer’s markets start to heat up in Colorado Springs, and this weekend is the opening weekend for the one in Old Colorado City! A lot of people consider it to be the best one in town – would you agree, or do you have another favorite? It runs every Saturday through October from 7 AM to 1 PM.
Here’s a couple of other area farmer’s markets:
- Briargate Farmer’s Market – opens Saturday, June 13th at the shopping center on the corner of Briargate and Chapel Hills (in front of Salsa Brava). From 8 AM to noon every Saturday.
- Colorado Farm and Art Market – opens Wednesday, June 10th at America The Beautiful Park from 3 PM to 7 PM, continuing each week through October 7th. The Saturday market begins on June 13th at the Margarita at Pine Creek and runs from 9 AM to 1 PM through October 10th.
I know there are several more farmer’s markets in town – particularly one in Memorial Park, I believe – but I can’t find websites for them. I tried going to one last year that was *ahem* listed on a farmer’s market directory but was more than a little bummed when there was no farmer’s market to be found at that location.
If you know of any others, I’d love for you to post a comment and let everyone know! I’ll try to get firm details on the rest of them in town and do a follow-up post soon.
