It appears that Sunflower Market’s grand opening specials are over and they’re back to “normal” sales. Still some great deals, but with all the hype about their amazing prices, it might be worth reminding yourself to shop smartly and compare prices at different stores because not everything is a good deal – at any store!
By the way, Sunflower Market has some printable coupons on their website – check them out! They are manufacturer’s coupons but have the Sunflower Market logo on them, so I would only redeem them there. (Plus, quite honestly, they are not done in a very high-quality way and don’t look legitimate – I wouldn’t link you to them if they weren’t on their own site!)
First off your Double Ad Wednesday deals – last week’s ad is still good on Wednesday, but only on Wednesday:
- Asparagus $1.27/lb
- Strawberries (1 lb) 77 ¢
- Raspberries (6 oz) 77 ¢
- Black or Red Plums 99 ¢/lb
- Papaya 88 ¢/lb
- Jicama 88 ¢/lb
- Italian, Yellow, or Mexican Grey Squash 88 ¢/lb
- Yellow Onions 33 ¢/lb
- Green Onions, Radishes, Cilantro, and Parsley 50 ¢ – Good prices, but definitely not worth a special trip.
- Valencia Oranges 50 ¢/lb – My target price, wouldn’t pay more.
- ORGANIC Peaches or Nectarines $1.99/lb
- ORGANIC Mangos 99 ¢ each
- ORGANIC Red or Green Leaf or Romaine Lettuce $1.50
- Bone-in New York Strip Steak $3.97/lb
- Large Shrimp (41/50 ct) $2.97/lb
- Colby Jack Cheese $1.99/lb
- Van’s Waffles $1.50 – Sometimes there are coupons for these in organic coupon booklets, so you may have a coupon to combine with this sale for a great deal!
- Annie’s Mac and Cheese 89 ¢ each – Use the $1/2 printable coupon here to get them for 39 ¢ each, awesome price!
- Sunflower Market Fruit Preserves $1.50 – A good price, I’ve been watching for a sale on this for awhile.
And here’s the deals good all week long…
- Sweet Corn 6 for $1 – Great price, might go a little lower this summer but I’d buy at this price!
- On The Vine Tomatoes 77 ¢/lb
- Blueberries (6 oz) 99 ¢ – Great price, might go cheaper per pound if King Soopers does a sale on larger packages.
- Russet Potatoes (10 lb) $2 – Has been cheaper at Rancho Liborio lately, but if you don’t get down there this is a great price!
- Cauliflower, Hothouse Cucumbers, and Artichokes $1.50 – NOT a good price for any of these except for maybe cauliflower.
- Romaine and Bibb Lettuce 77 ¢ – Great price!
- Red or Green Seedless Grapes $1.50/lb – Not a good price unless you’re desparate for grapes, I wouldn’t pay more than $1/lb
- Yellow Peaches and Nectarines 77 ¢/lb – Great price!
- Baby Carrots (2 lb) $2 – Good, but frequent, sale price.
- Red, Yellow, and Orange Bell Peppers $1.25 – Not a good price, wait until they go on sale for $1 or less.
- Strawberries (4 lb) $4.99 – Good price, of course they were cheaper last week, but $1.25/lb is still a great price.
- Broccoli Crowns 88 ¢/lb – Great price, even cheaper at Safeway through Sunday!
- Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts $1.67/lb – Great price!
- Pork Sausage $1.97/lb – This is a good price for sausage – usually stores sell 20 oz packages of Italian sausage for $4-5 and it’s hard to find a good sale.
Don’t forget to look at the entire ad online to make sure I didn’t miss great buys!
Now I have a question for you – for those of you who have tried Sunflower’s pork sausage, can you tell me if their hot Italian sausage has fennel in it? I can’t. stand. fennel, and can’t find a brand here that doesn’t have it in there!
