School supply deals this week

Here’s a round-up of all the school supply specials going on at various stores this week.   I’ve listed them by item instead of by store so you can better compare who has the best overall deals, since many stores are having sales on the same items.   (And, unlike the weekly grocery deals, I’ve listed most the sales that are going on, so you can decide for yourself what’s a better deal.)   Check the circulars online to make sure I didn’t miss anything!

Just a few overall notes: keep in mind that a lot of the office supply stores run out of the deals that are 1 ¢ and 5 ¢ on Sunday, so just be prepared that they might be out of stock. Depending on the item and brand, you can try pricematching at Walmart, too.

There are some great printable office supply coupons available right now that can be combined with a lot of these sales to bring the price down even lower: there’s one for $1 off two Bic stationary products at Coupons.com, one for $1 off two Zebra pen products at Smartsource.com.

And, Office Max has all their Expo Dry Erase markets, Uni-Ball pens, Bic pens, Crayola crayons, etc on sale for “Buy 2 get the 3rd for 1 ¢”. Keep in mind that this is about 33% off, and it’s pretty unlikely that 33% off an office supply store’s regular prices is going to be a good deal.

Use the 50 ¢/1 coupon that came in today’s insert to get it free!   Since it’s over the cost of the product, the machine will likely beep.   The cashier should be able to adjust the price of the coupon down to 39 ¢, or you could avoid the hassle altogether by buying four ($1.56 total) and using three 50 ¢/1 coupons and getting the four of them for 6 ¢ total.
