King Soopers update: Mega Event and cheap bread!

Published August 20, 2009 by Carrie in Grocery Deals

I’ve made a few updates to the King Soopers post for the week, but wanted to highlight them here:

First off, at least a couple of King Soopers stores are having a sweet deal on Sara Lee bread – the Soft and Smooth Whole Grain is on sale for $1.47 and some stores have coupons for free mini bagels when you buy bread taped to them.   A loaf of bread and a bag of bagels for $1.47?   Score!

I also noticed that they lowered the regular price of their store brand butter to $1.78, which is a great every day price!   It will go cheaper, but that’s a pretty significant price reduction.

Then, I was able to spend a few minutes examining the Mega Event details in-store.   Personally, I’m a little disappointed; there’s not this much I want to stock up on this time around.   However, there are still a few sweet deals:

  • Hamburger Helper – Select varieties are 59 ¢ after the promo!   Use the 75 ¢/3 coupons to get them for 25 ¢ each!   The varieties I saw at this price were Sloppy Joe and Cheesy Ranch, among others.
  • General Mills and Quaker Cereals – These are $1.49 after the promo.   The varieties that are included are “plain” Cheerios, Golden Grahams, Trix, Fruity Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Life, and Oatmeal Squares.   No Honey Nut Cheerios, unfortunately.
  • Quaker Granola Bars – Nearly all varieties are included in this sale ($1.49 after promo), so you can use the 50 ¢/1 or $1/1 coupons that are valid only on select varieties to get them for 49 ¢!
  • Nature Valley Granola Bars – I already mentioned that if you buy 5 you’ll earn a catalina for $3.50 on your next order.   These are $1.49 after the promotion, so if you use the 40 ¢/1 and 50 ¢/1 coupons, you’ll end up getting these for free or making money on them!
  • Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks – These are also $1.49 each, and again, you’ll earn a $3.50 catalina when you buy five.   Put the right coupons with it, and they’ll be free or a moneymaker!

I’ve updated the original post with all this information, and turned comments off on this post so that we can keep all the discussion in one place. Be sure to check out the original post for all the deals going on this week, and for links to printable coupons to use with these deals!
