There’s a pretty hot unadvertised cereal deal going on at Safeway this week – keep reading for more. And if you haven’t heard the news yet, all Safeways in Colorado are doubling coupons! No more need for extra driving to get to a location that doubles.
Sunday’s Ad – Deals still good through Sunday, August 11:
- Mission Soft Taco Tortillas 10 ct 99 ¢ with in-ad coupon – Good price. Insert here that we used to be able to get these for free quite regularly, but not for almost a year. No more free tortillas. :(
- Quaker Chewy Granola Bars 99 ¢ with in-ad coupon
- Welch’s Grape Squeeze Jelly $1.49 with in-ad coupon – Use a 55 ¢/1 when you buy jelly and milk and get the jelly for 49 ¢ and the milk for $1.58, a great deal!
- Oscar Mayer Meat Weiners 99 ¢ with in-ad coupon – Good deal, these are actually on special to take $5 off when you buy any 5 Oscar Mayer products. Too bad you can’t buy more than one for 99 ¢!
- Kellogg’s Pop Tarts 99 ¢ with in-ad coupon
72-Hour Sale – Deals good Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Only:
- Best Foods or Hellman’s Mayo $1.99 – Use 50 ¢/1 to get for 99 ¢, a great price.
- Rice or Pasta Roni 89 ¢ – No coupons out and not that great of a price. Wouldn’t pay more than 50 ¢ for these unless you need ’em!
Meat, Dairy, and Frozen:
- Pork Shoulder Country Style Ribs 98 ¢/lb – Great, pretty frequent price. To me, this means I’ll buy a couple of packages, but no need to stock my freezer because it will come around again at some store in afew weeks.
- Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts or Thighs $1.88/lb – Breasts are cheaper at Albies this week.
- Lucerne Gallon Milk $1.58
Produce:
- Palisade Yellow Peaches 99 ¢/lb – Like I said about King Soopers sale price, this is a decent price but it’s hard to say it’s great when we just paid 39 ¢/lb at Sunflower last week!
- Red or Black Plums 99 ¢/lb
General Grocery and Household:
There’s a bunch of in-ad coupons this week. Remember that they require a $20 minimum purchase and are limit one. Some great prices, but hard to stock up at a limit of one, huh?
- Pepsi 12Packs Buy 2 Get 3 Free plus a free bag of Tostitos– The 12-packs are regular $5.99 (yes, seriously!), so you’ll buy two and pay $11.98, plus get three more and a bag of chips for free, bringing the cost per item to $1.99, which is great for the 12-packs and marginally good for the chips.
- Select Kellogg’s Cereal $2.49, or $1.49 when you buy 4 or more – Cereals that I noticed were included were Raisin Bran, Mini Wheats, Cocoa Krispies, and Corn Flakes – I’m sure there are a few more. This was not advertised, but I noticed it was marked in the store! I bought ten, used five $1/2 coupons and paid 99 ¢ for each box. I’ll submit the Kellogg’s rebate for $10 and they’ll be FREE! Wanted to wait for an even better sale, but we’re low on cereal and FREE is never bad. :) By the way, the $1 off each box did not come off at checkout and I had to go to customer service to get my money back. Check your receipt!
- Oscar Mayer Event: Buy 5 Save $5 – I’m not seeing any amazing deals here, but leave a comment if you do.
- Lucerne Butter $1.49 with in-ad coupon – Good price if you’re not still stocked up from Easter sales!
- Lucerne Large Eggs 18 ct 99 ¢ with in-ad coupon
- Breyer’s Ice Cream $1.99 with in-ad coupon
- Barilla Pasta 69 ¢ with in-ad coupon
- Pam Cooking Spray $2.49 with in-ad coupon – I used a 35 ¢/1 to get one for $1.79, which is an *ok* price if you need it before Christmas sales start.
I’ve just listed the sales that I would consider good deals in this poist, so be sure to check out the entire ad online. Remember that you can use the following e-coupons at Safeway: Cellfire, Shortcuts, and P&G esaver. And, if you have trouble with Safeway not accepting any printable coupons, you might want to check out the policy on their website here.
Please add your finds – especially unadvertised deals – in the comments! This weekly ad review is part of BeCentsAble’s Grocery Gathering.
