Here’s how my shopping went this week: I spent $81.25 on Wednesday at King Soopers, Albertsons, Walgreens, and Walmart. I stocked up on granola bars at King Soopers, redeemed a raincheck for whole chickens at Albies, and price-matched some of Rancho Liborio’s and Sunflower’s produce prices at Walmart. Got a few toiletries at Walgreens, a few staples that I was out of at Walmart, and plan on using a little bit of meat from the freezer. Here’s everything I got, minus my Walmart trip:
My table was full of food!
I’ve overspent the past couple of weeks, due to poor planning, having dinner guests 3 times in one week (10 extra adults plus kids!), and a camping trip that I bought a lot of stuff that wasn’t on a great sale. So, I’m hoping to keep my total for the week at $81. I’m going to STAY AWAY FROM THE STORE and use what we have. [Edit: maybe I lied. I might need to go get some fresh ginger and if I’m in the vicinity of an Asian market I’ll pick up some bean sprouts and scallions, so maybe $3 total.]
I still want to stock up some more at King Sooper’s mega event, but want to wait to see what coupons we get for the next two Sundays.
What are you fixing this week? Is this a big spending week or a “eat from the freezer” week for you? Feel free to make this a community discussion! I’m going to leave my menu plan in the comments.
I’ve linked to this post over in the right sidebar so you can access it easily throughout the week. Post recipes and links to recipes and discuss as much as you want! Make sure you leave the “notify me of followup comments via email” option checked when you leave a comment if you want to follow along.
