Weekly chat thread

Published October 9, 2009 by Carrie in Expired

What’s on your menu this week?  How’s your budget?  Got a recipe you want to share?  A plea for help? Bored stiff because it’s cold outside?  Come chat with us!  I decided to call this the weekly chat thread rather than the weekly menu planning post so that it’s open to whatever you want to talk about.

I’ve added a new comment system that I hope will make a weekly chat thread enjoyable and helpful! Click below to leave a comment – you can now connect with your Facebook, Twitter, Open ID, or Yahoo account and it will pull your email address and profile picture from there.  You can also still just enter your name and email address.

You can opt in or out to receive followup comments via email – I’d suggest opting in if you want to stay on top of what’s being said without having to refresh the site!  And, if someone asks a questions and you’d like to reply directly to them, you can click “reply” and your response will be posted on the site as well as emailed to the person who originally posted the question.

So, here’s what’s on my mind this week: loving the cold weather and want to start doing the Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day thing again.  I’d stopped during the summer because it’s just too hot to heat the oven to 425º when it’s already 80º in the house, but now that it’s cold again and we’ll be eating more soups I’d love to have fresh bread ready to bake whenever I want it!

Also, I just tried this recipe for slow cooker barbacoa beef – finally I have a way to fix a London broil!  It was great, and it’s totally on my list of “fix often” dishes.  This is really lame, but the best part to me is that I dumped it in a pot without searing or any other major prep.

OK, ok… I’ll shut up now and chat more in the comments!  Come join in!
