Have you heard about Adility or Groupon before? They’re both similar sites that have daily deals on entertainment in certain cities – it’s not in Colorado Springs right now, but I signed up to see the information about deals in Denver so I could see how it works!
Basically, they are “group coupon” sites – a business offers up a big-time discount specially for Adility or Groupon members, but at least five have to sell for the deal to be “on”. A recent Adility offer was for Beau Visage Skin Care and Spa – $59.99 for Swedish Massage, Dead Sea Salt Body Treatment, and European Facial, which is regularly $200!
The fine print for the Adility Beau Visage deal says:
“Card must be presented to receive offers listed. Valid for new clients only. One card per person. Additional cards may be purchased as gifts only. Maximum one complimentary service per day. Limited appointments available for Friday & Saturday. Not valid on holidays. Services will be provided by salon selected technicians. A 18% gratuity is required suggested on the total value of service provided. Not to be combined with any other discount, promotion, coupon or gift card. Cannot be used to purchase gift cards. A 24 hour minimum is required for cancellations or service booked will be forfeited. A credit card is required when booking your appointment.”
I’m thinking this could be an awesome way to get some Christmas gifts! When you go to the order page, it says “this deal comes as a certificate that will be shipped to you via regular mail.” And Groupon‘s FAQ says:
Can I buy a Groupon as a gift for someone else?
Yes. We communicate with all the businesses that we work with that Groupons can be gifted, and unless the Fine Print specifically states otherwise, gift away!
So, it seems like these are a little nicer than, say, the [r.com] certificates that you print out at home.
