Money Saving Mom and Fish Mama are hosting a month-long Eat From the Pantry Challenge – and I think I’m gonna join them! Typically, grocery store sales in January and February are pretty blah. Many of the big sales are focused on diet foods and cleaning supplies (think New Year’s Resolutions and spring cleaning), and in general it’s just not a big stock-up-your-food-pantry time of year. It’s a great time to actually use all those deals you’ve gotten to bring your grocery budget average way down!
Last year, I believe in March there were three weeks where I spent the least ever on groceries – one week, I spent ten bucks! Now, the only way I could ever have done that was to force myself to not grocery shop and actually use what’s in my stockpile. I’m guessing you could post some pretty amazing budget numbers with what’s in your pantry, too!
Go here for more details on the Eat From The Pantry Challenge, and see if you want to join the rest of us! I’ll keep you updated as to my progress and ask you to share yours.
