Sunflower Market deals through December 23: rock-bottom prices on produce!

Published December 15, 2009 by Carrie in Grocery Deals

Sunflower Farmer's Market Colorado Springs

Some amazing prices on produce at Sunflower Market this week!  We may even have to try eggplant at that price… There’s not much to lose if we don’t like it!

Double Ad Wednesday Deals – Good December 16 Only

Grapefruit 17¢ each
Rating: 5

Cucumbers 29¢ each
Rating: 5

Anjou and Bosc Pears 88¢/lb
Rating: 4.5

Red or Golden Delicious or Granny Smith Apples 88¢/lb
Rating: 3

Extra Large Green Bell Peppers 50¢ each
Rating: 4

Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast $1.77/lb
Rating: 3

Bigelow Herbal Tea (20 ct) $1.99
Rating: 4 – about $3 regular price at King Soopers, and doesn’t go on sale often.  Update: I think I saw this for the same price at Safeway, through 12/31, I think?

Deals Good All Week Long

Eggplant 49¢ each
Rating: 5

Green Beans 77¢/lb
Rating: 5

Russet Potatoes, 5 lbs 49¢
Rating: 5

Broccoli 77¢/lb
Rating: 4

Italian, Yellow, and Mexican Grey Squash 77¢/lb
Rating: 4

Barlett Pears 88¢/lb

Rating: 3.5-4, probably closer to a 4 since we are in the dead of winter!

Braeburn or Fuji Apples 88¢/lb
Rating: 3.5-4

Mexican Papaya and Jicama 77¢/lb
Rating: 4 – this is a great price, but if you shop at Rancho Liborio it goes even cheaper there quite often.

Darigold Butter, 16 oz $1.49
Rating: 4, maybe even a 5 if you really love this butter. It’s a good price for any kind of butter, but if you like this brand I’d probably stock up.

Sunflower Farmers Market Tea, 25 ct 99¢
Rating: 4-5, great price for tea but I’ve never had this brand so I don’t know how it compares to name brands?

Sunflower Farmers Market Maple Syrup, 32 oz $15.99
Rating: 3 – cheaper by $2.11 at Sam’s, for comparison.

Ribeye Roast $4.97/lb
Rating: 4 – this is a pretty typical price for Christmas week, we’ll see if any other stores have it cheaper.

Spiral Cut Hams $1.99/lb

Rating: we’ll see how this compares to other stores’ prices tomorrow!

Anyone got any good eggplant recipes? :)
