Just thought I’d update you on what the free photobook from HotPrints was like, since I got mine last week!
Overall, I was a little under-impressed. I’ve never ordered a photobook before, so I wasn’t sure what to except. It was 14 pages, and you could choose the layout you wanted on each page. The pages were relatively thick, and it was stapled together in the center like some magazines.
There was an “advertising insert” in the middle of the book, two extra pages with HotPrints information that were easily removed from the center, though it did mess up the staples a little bit. The cover of the book said “My Christmas Hotbook”, which is definitely not the title I would have chosen and I’m not sure if that’s the default (based on which book design you choose), or if I just forgot to change it.
This definitely wasn’t what I’d consider a keepsake-quality book. I kind of thought the print quality was a little low, though that could have had to do more with the pictures I uploaded than the actual printing job.
However, it was completely free except for the time I spent putting it together. So, I do plan to claim the free one every month this year, but I don’t plan to spend much time doing it. My kids had fun looking at it and it’s with their other books now. So for free, I’ll definitely get one and next time I’ll probably put some baby pictures of the kids in it, since they like looking at those.
Did any of you get your free photobook from HotPrints yet? What did you think? If you haven’t ordered one yet, here’s how!
