The great unadvertised deal of the week at King Soopers is Mission Tortillas Caseras – they’re on sale for $1.25! Use the $1/1 coupon we got in Sunday’s insert, or sign up for Mission Extras to print a 55¢ coupon that will double to a dollar, and get them for 25¢! This sale actually runs into March, so we’ve got awhile to stock up.
Mission has a ton of other products the coupon could be used on, too – here’s a full list. Their Sundried Tomato Basil Wraps sound awfully tasty!
On my post about how to make Tortilla Pizzas, Kathy asked if anyone had any tips about the best way to freeze tortillas so they don’t get freezer burn or don’t get soggy when you thaw them.
I’ve wondered about this recently, too, so I thought I’d open up Kathy’s question so that everyone could give their input. How do you freeze or thaw tortillas to preserve their freshness?
Here’s what Mission Foods says in their FAQ:
Is it okay to freeze corn or flour tortillas? Yes, it is okay to freeze corn or flour tortillas. It is very important that you let them thaw in the refrigerator for a day or two before using them. Corn or flour tortillas should not be thawed in the microwave.
Do you have any more tips?
Note: Mission Foods is sponsoring my trip to Blissdom. I’m thrilled to be able to promote an awesome deal on tortillas to you, especially when they have been such an awesome sponsor to me!
