It’s the second week of the Daytona Mega Event at King Soopers… a few good deals with that, but not nearly as many as with the last Mega Event. I’m hoping some good coupons come in Sunday’s inserts that will bring some of those prices down a little more.
Some great prices on organic produce, though!
Meat, Dairy, and Frozen
Atlantic Salmon Fillets $4.99/lb
Rating: 3-3.5 – should go lower soon, I think.
USDA Choice Bone-In New York Strip Steak B1G1 Free
Net cost at checkout: should be about $3/lb ($5.99/lb regularly) if you buy two packages of the same weight
Gorton’s Fish $3.49
Use 55¢/1 insert coupon
Net cost at checkout: $2.49
Rating: 4 – may be slightly better at Safeway, though, it’s 50¢ cheaper there plus an additional Ore Ida + Gorton’s promotion.
Van Kamp’s Seafood $3.49
Rating: 3, maybe a 4… I’d probably hold off to see if we get a coupon, though.
Oscar Mayer Basic Lunchables $1
Use 75¢/1 printable from [coupons.com] (“sub” variety only)
Net cost at checkout: FREE!
Yoplait Yogurt Cups 50¢
Use 40¢/6 or 50¢/8 insert coupon
Net cost at checkout: 37¢
Rating: 3 – this sale comes around pretty often; it’s a decent price, but definitely not a stock-up one.
Dannon Yogurt Cups 50¢
Use 60¢/6 insert coupon or 75¢/6 printable from [coupons.com]
Net cost at checkout: 37¢
Rating: 3 – same, as above, a pretty “normal” sale price.
Seedless Green or Red Grapes $1/lb
ORGANIC Fuji Appes 99¢/lb
ORGANIC Navel Oranges 99¢/lb
ORGANIC Red or Green Leaf or Romaine Lettuce $1
General Grocery and Household
Heinz Ketchup (40 oz) $1.59
Rating: 4, maybe even a 5 if you are brand-loyal – we didn’t get great sales on Heinz last summer, and from looking at past sales this is the best price we’ve had in a long time (including last summer).
Thomas English Muffins B1G1 Free
Net cost at checkout: about $1.95 each (regular $3.89)
Starkist Chunk Light Tuna Pouches $1
Rating: 3 – I’d wait to buy until there’s a coupon available to make them free, which happens pretty often.
Buy 10 Save $3 Daytona 500 Savings Event
Buy 10 participating items save $3 instantly. You can do it as many times are you want per transaction, just make sure you buy in multiples of ten!
Gatorade Sports Drink (32 oz) 69¢
Kraft Barbecue Sauce 69¢
Kroger Salad Dressing 94¢
Rating: 4 – wouldn’t stock up *too* much on this, we can often get Kraft for this price or less in the summer
Pillsbury Grands Biscuits 99¢, plus earn a $4 catalina when you buy 6
Buy six and use three 30¢/2 insert coupons or printables from Coupons.com
Net cost at checkout: $4.14 total (69¢ each), plus earn a $4 coupon to use on your next order!
Rating: 5 – note that the catalina deal ends 2/21
Betty Crocker Supreme Brownie Mix $1.69
Use 75¢/2 insert coupons or printables from Coupons.com
Net cost at checkout: $1.19
Rating: 2-3, maybe a little higher if you are brand-loyal.
Campbell’s Chunky Soup $1.29
Use $1.50/3 printable
Net cost at checkout: 79¢ each
Banquet Dinners or Brown N Serve 70¢
Use $1/10 insert coupon (dinners only)
Net cost at checkout: 60¢
Rating: 5 – would probably still give the Brown N Serve a 4-5 rating even though there aren’t coupons out.
Chef Boyardee Pasta or Microwave Cups (7.5-15 oz) 70¢
Use 40¢/1 or $1/5 insert coupons
Net cost at checkout: FREE to 50¢
Fritos or Frito Lay Canned Dips $1.69
Country Time Lemonade, Tang or Kool-Aid Drink Mix $1.99
Rating: 2 – I’d wait for summer; these will go much cheaper. They were a moneymaker last summer, in fact!
Kraft Macaroni and Cheese (5 pack) $2.69
Rating: 4-5 – works out to 54¢ per box, a great deal.
Breyers Ice Cream or Klondike Novelties $2.48
Rating: 3 – cheaper at Albertsons
Purex Laundry Detergent $3.82
Buy two and use two 35¢/1 insert coupons
Net cost at checkout: $6.24 ($3.12 each), plus earn a $4 catalina when you purchase 2
Net cost after catalina: $1.12 each
Rating: 5 – note that at least two of us tried this deal this morning and didn’t get a catalina. It should run through 3/7 (?) according to the first one I earned, so not sure what’s up. I contacted the Catalina company (1.888.8COUPON or firstname.lastname@example.org ) and hopefully they will take care of getting me my $4!
