Money Saving Mom is lamenting the lack of free toilet paper, and I’m with her. Back in the good ole days, like you know, a year ago, we could get Cottonelle 4-packs for free pretty regularly at King Soopers. But, that sale hasn’t shown it’s head for quite a long time, and I’ve had trouble mentally adjusting – seriously! It’d hard to me to recommend you spend 50¢ per roll on toilet paper when I’m used to getting it for free.
Same with toothpaste… free toothpaste sales used to be plentiful, but not for quite awhile now. I actually paid for toothpaste the other day – haven’t done that in years! And yellow mustard? It was free two summers ago, but I don’t think we ever saw lower than about 50¢ last summer.
As a deal blogger, I watch the grocery sales pretty closely and it’s interesting to observe trends. No, we don’t get free toilet paper and toothpaste anymore, but right now we can get tuna for free pretty regularly, as well as certain brands of frozen vegetables. It seems like there’s always something we can get for free, but those types of sales cycle just like everything else.
Are you lamenting the loss of free Cottonelle? Or are you new enough that the concept of free toilet paper is a bit mind-boggling? :)
(OK, seriously, you guys? Did I just ask if you were sad about toilet paper?!)
