Deal or Gimmick? Free trees from the Arbor Day Foundation

You can get 10 free trees with a $10 membership to the Arbor Day Foundation! Ah yes… those of you who have done this deal know that calling these items “trees” is stretching it – perhaps sticks, or more politically correct, seedlings, would be more appropriate.

Still, they’re just a $1 each!  Have you purchased these cheap trees and had success growing them?  Or did they meet an untimely death with your weedeater?
