Group coupon buying coming to Colorado Springs

Update: I wrote this post over the weekend and then just got the “inaguaral” Colorado Springs deals this morning – 60% off at the Blue Star!

Have you heard of Groupon?  I think I’ve mentioned it before, but it hadn’t come to Colorado Springs yet.  Well, it still isn’t quite here, but they’re now allowing you to sign up for Groupon in Colorado Springs so I’m thinking we’ll be hearing about a launch soon!

Groupon is “group coupon buying” – a daily deal is emailed out to all the Groupon members in a particular city.  There has to be a minimum number of Grouponers that indicate they’re willing to purchase the deal before it’s “on”.  Once the minimum number of people commit to purchasing the deal, it’s on and your credit card is then charged for the deal.  If the minimum number isn’t met, life goes on and nothing happens.

So, what kind of deals are there?  There are deals on dining, restaurants, hotels, massages, and more – and from what I’ve seen, they actually seem to be good deals, not “junk coupons”!

Go here to sign up for Groupon.  Make sure you choose the appropriate city!  When I signed up for Colorado Springs, I got this message:
