Get ready to pick your own produce!

Published September 7, 2010 by Carrie in Expired

Our trip to Miller Farms a couple of years ago

Want to meet fellow Springs Bargains readers and get a bargain while doing it?  Join us for a trip to Miller Farms on Friday, September 24 at 10 AM. We’ll be getting a group discount to their fall harvest festival – pay $10 per person (3 and under are free) and pick up to six 10-lb bags of produce, plus you’ll be able to enjoy all the fun parts of their festival…

Begin your day with a visit to our petting zoo, followed by navigating your way through our corn maze. Play in the giant jumping balloon, climb on the fire truck, slide down the giant hill, and then the fun really begins!

Enjoy your lunch in our picnic area, where we’ve got dozens of covered tables set up for your convenience. We have trash barrels and washing stations throughout, as well as several portable restrooms.

Take our hayride through 180 acres of fields where you can pick your own vegetables—potatoes, carrots, onions, beets, Indian corn, squash, peppers, and the list goes on! You even get your very own pumpkin to take with you.

If you aren’t up to picking your own, we always have plenty of produce on hand in the roadside stand. We also have our chile roaster going for a wonderful treat! We do offer snacks, drinks and other delicious treats.

There will be a signup for this event soon, so stay tuned!

Someone asked if this event is suitable for young children, and I would say the answer is yes, it’s fun and educational (and a DEAL!) for the entire family! However, if you want to be able to concentrate on picking your six bags of produce, you may want to bring along someone to watch your young children (if you have more then one!)  so you can focus on picking the produce so you don’t have to worry about them falling off the hayride or staying out of the tractor’s way.

We went a couple of years ago and my kiddos loved the other activities, like the “giant hill” and fire truck!

Hope to see you there!  Miller Farms is north of Denver, about an hour and 45 minute drive from the Springs.  Here’s a map.  This is a great opportunity to get some friends together and carpool!

Leave a comment if you have questions and I will answer it there.
