Shh – elusive canned pumpkin spotted in Colorado Springs

Someone contacted me and said they almost didn’t want to share this, but they found canned pumpkin for $1.55 a can at the Monument Natural Grocers store on Friday.

Everyone keep calm, please don’t cause a stampede at the store… ;)

If you wonder what the big deal is about, you might want to read this post about The Great Canned Pumpkin Shortage.  It’s very hard to find right now due to a poor harvest last year.  However, a couple of readers were thinking out of the box and were able to find a source for pumpkin:

Jen managed to find some canned pumpkin at World Market.

Beck said that Whole Foods has plenty.

Joanne found it on line at Meijer.com, but it now appears to be sold out or I just can’t find it.
