Time to sign up for the trip to Miller Farms!

Published September 15, 2010 by Carrie in Expired

It’s almost here! The group trip to Miller Farms is set for Friday, September 24th – just a week and a half away! I’m excited to be getting my hands dirty picking my own produce along with a bunch of you guys.

Below is all the information you’ll need to know. If you’re planning on attending, please complete the signup form at the bottom so that I can give Miller Farms a heads up on how many people to expect.

Need To Know Info

You may receive the group discount of $10 per person (ages 4+, children 3 and under are free) *anytime* during the day on Friday – just tell them you are with the Springs Bargains group.  They are open from 9 AM to 6 PM.  Please bring cash to pay for admission.

Please dress appropriately for the weather as all activities are outdoors.  Remember that you will be on your hands and knees picking produce, so wear your best veggie-pickin’ attire!  You may want to bring gloves.

With your $10 admission fee, Miller Farms allows you to pick up to six 10 lb bags of produce.  Typically, they provide plastic potato bags (like you’d buy 10 lbs of potatoes in the store) and you can put your produce in those bags.  You may want to bring something to “identify” your bags so they don’t get mixed up with other people’s on the hayride you’ll take to the fields – perhaps a ribbon, or a reusable bag that you can put your plastic produce bag inside.

What produce you’ll be able to pick will vary.  Miller Farms decides which fields are ready for picking each morning, so be prepared for a surprise!  They have informed us that there will be no zucchini or green beans available.

Feel free to bring a picnic lunch – Miller Farms has picnic tables, and also offer snacks for purchase there.  Plan to spend some time at the petting zoo or playing on the fire truck – all activities are included in admission.

Miller Farms is located at 9040 Highway 66; Platteville, CO 80651.  It’s just a little ways north of Denver – Google Maps states that it’s a 2 hour drive from Colorado Springs.

Miller Farms does not typically close for inclement weather, so you can do the event rain or shine.  If for any reason there is a complete closure, a notice will be posted on here on Springs Bargains.

Questions?

If you have more questions about Miller Farms, please read their website.  If you have general questions about the group discount, feel free to leave a comment!
