NOVO Ink: the future in Christian eBooks

A few years ago, I probably would have said: I hate ebooks.  I really don’t like reading large amounts of stuff online.  But, I have to say, I’m changing.

eBooks are becoming more than just print: they’re now starting to embed video, audio, and interactivity into eBook technology, and I’m super excited to see what the future holds for digital publishing!

You use Zinio as your technology partner.  How does Zinio differ from using a Kindle or other popular eBook devices?

One of the major differences between the Zinio reader and Kindle, for example, is that the Zinio reader allows you to read eBooks and eZines in High Definition Full Color.

In addition, you can view still and moving graphics, photos, video, animations, and can link out to additional web based resources that your eBook might have in it.  The interactive ability of the Zinio reader creates an interactive reading experience…of course you can also read black text on white page too if you choose.

What is NOVO Ink?  How did NOVO Ink get started?

For the Christian reader, NOVO Ink is the source for Christian eBooks and eZines.  We are working with the top Christian publishers to fill the NOVO Ink site with as much Christian eBook content as possible.  In addition to this, we are working to provide content for the faith-based reader that is not available anywhere else.  Many publishers are working on creating interactive digital books, with enhanced features such as embedded video, moving animations, etc. for a entirely new reading experience.

NOVO Ink got started when the founder, Devlin Donaldson, sought a way to bring Christian content to life in digital eBook form.  The partnership with Zinio has allowed us to bring the most technologically advanced reader to Christian consumers.

So, NOVO Ink provides faith-based and family-friendly eBooks, but what else do you have?

What we have done on the NOVO Ink site is to filter eBooks and eZines from Zinio, so that all the content on our site is family friendly.  You will notice that there are some magazines and eBooks on the site that are not necessarily “Christian”, but are great resources that we feel anyone could enjoy without being offensive.

You can absolutely get some FREE downloads from our free download page.  Go download one, two, or all the available free eZines so you can get a feel for some of the cool interactive features available in this new way to read…and the full color isn’t bad either.

I can’t wait to see what the future of digital publishing holds!  As we start thinking about homeschooling our kids (“officially” starting next year), I’m thinking interactive eBooks could be an incredible assset to homeschooling parents!
