Walgreens Weekly: Free Hallmark cards and Special Jingle Cash offer continues

Here are the Walgreens deals for December 12-18. I would have to say I’m a little disappointed with them. I’m glad I don’t have any Register Rewards that I have to use this week.

Using Register Rewards At Other Stores

After shopping at Walgreens for more than a year and tediously figuring the best way to maximize my Register Rewards each week or two, I discovered that there are some grocery stores here in the Springs that accept Walgreens Register Rewards as well!

This can be hit-or-miss and you need to check with the store manager of the store at which you want to use them. But, for those of you who choose not to shop Walgreens because of the brain cells used in this calculated shopping attack, check with your preferred grocery store and you might just be able to relax and start enjoying these deals.   So, try it out – just ask the store manager first.

Carrie’s note: Joanne left a great comment with the Commissary’s policy on this last week.  I would not try using RRs at other stores unless you have specifically and personally cleared it with a manager. Safeway’s official policy actually prohibits this, though some stores may choose to override this policy.

Filler Items

One thing to remember when shopping at Walgreens is that you can never use more coupons (total number of manufacturer, store, and RR) than items in a single transaction. Sometimes you need to grab a couple small items to equal things out. I’ve included some good fillers for this week. The best fillers are those that do not require an additional coupon, but if a coupon is required, you would just need to buy multiples of that item to help with your item/coupon count.

Hallmark Cards Deal

The Hallmark greeting cards deal continues from last week: get a $2 RR (Jingle Cash) when you buy 2 cards or $5 when you buy 6 cards (although, if you are buying 6, I would probably do 3 transactions of 2 cards each to earn $6 in Jingle Cash!) This could be a great deal (free!) if you buy the $0.99 cards!

And, the Special Jingle Cash offer continues (for use on your next in-store purchase). Spend $25…earn $5, Spend $50…earn $10, Spend $75…earn $15, Spend $100…earn $20.
