Admission to national parks is free January 15-17, in honor of MLK Day! Though it’s not exactly the prime time of year to visit many parks, it is a prime time to do a free day, as I’m guessing they are much less crowded on free days in January than in June!
I haven’t been to any of the Colorado parks in winter, but I’m thinking the Sand Dunes would be pretty nice in winter – the Sangre de Christos are some of Colorado’s prettiest mountains, in my opinion!
