On Saturday, I got ready to fix Sichuan Green Beans for supper… And promptly ordered Domino’s because the green beans I had purchased at Sunflower Market were moldy.
Granted, they were not the best green beans when I purchased them a few days prior, but I spent 5 minutes picking out only good ones in the store so I thought they would be fine in the refrigerator for a few days.
I’ve had several frustrating experiences with Sunflower’s produce (and meat, too) lately, so I asked if it was just me on the Springs Bargains Facebook page. Turns out, it’s not just me that’s been frustrated with Sunflower’s quality lately, but others also mentioned they’ve had issues with produce from Costco and Whole Foods rotting in just a day or two, as well.
Have you had produce go bad well before you thought it should recently? What do you think causes it? Do you have any tips for preserving the life of your produce? Please join the discussion in the comments!
