I had so much fun looking at vintage coupons that I thought it would be fun to browse some vintage grocery ads, too! It’s fascinating to see how much things have risen in price, and which things aren’t that far off from our prices today – we get the same price on Thanksgiving turkeys as you might have seen 50 years ago.
Interesting that we see turkeys for the same price (39¢/lb) at Thanksgiving these days!
This is probably what I’m most jealous of: a five-pound bag of sugar for 47¢!
Is that really pineapple for 25¢ each?!
“Our Favorite Brand” Catsup for 10¢ – wonder if that was a gimmick to get you in the store to see what it was, or a real brand? Seems like there were fewer name brands back then.
Oh goodness – hamburger meat for 29¢ a pound?!
Well, I hope you had as much fun looking back as I did! Were there prices that you were surprised to see how much or how little they’ve changed?
