Reader Leigh posted this question on the Springs Bargains’ Facebook page:
To save money, I’d like to learn how to cut my kids’ hair (they are young enough I may be able to get away with it — ages 3 and 1). Does anyone know of a way that I can learn basic hair cutting techniques? Thanks in advance for your advice!
We are actually 100% home haircuts at our house – Jeremy cuts his own and our son’s, and I trim mine and my girls’ (with a little help on mine from Jeremy). I’m not sure how much money this saves us, but I know that it’s a pretty significant savings of both money and time so I’m totally rooting for Leigh as she braves the world of haircutting. (Though I can’t admit that my hair looks amazingly great – someday I will be paying for a pro.)
A couple of Facebook fans responded and said to search for “how to cut hair” videos on YouTube and invest in a good pair of scissors. Do you have any more advice for Leigh? Please join the discussion in the comments! Image from modern nomad on Flickr.
