This is a stock-up price for dry pasta, so I know I’ll be filling my pantry. Here are some ideas for using pasta!
One of my go-to lunches that the kids love is a simple pasta dish: cooked pasta (whatever type I have on hand) tossed with olive oil, salt, and Parmesan cheese. I often add peas and a can of tuna for extra fiber and protein.
Homemade macaroni and cheese is another standby pasta dish — The Pioneer Woman’s Macaroni and Cheese is a traditional, yummy, oh-so-cheesy recipe (that calls for a POUND of cheese, but in my opinion, doesn’t really need that much!) If you want something a little more “grown up” and interesting, try this Baked Green Chile Mac and Cheese. Green chiles are in season right now!
With so many veggies in season and on sale, it’s a good time of year to make this Pasta Primavera from Giada de Laurentiis. It’s great as a side dish or as a vegetarian entree.

Here are a couple more yummy-looking main dishes — Paula Deen’s Baked Spaghetti, and this rich Creamy Cajun Chicken Pasta.
This dish, Asian-Style Pork & Vegetable Noodles, calls for ingredients that you can find in the regular grocery store (but if you can stop by an Asian market you’ll find some of the items cheaper.)

Here are two recipes for cold pasta salads — Jamie Oliver’s Best Pasta Salad uses several fresh veggies and an olive oil and vinegar dressing (and it’s even better with some feta cheese added!) This creamy BLT Pasta Salad looks tasty, too, and it only has five ingredients!
What’s your favorite pasta recipe?
