Today we were driving somewhere and my five-year-old watched a city bus drive by. “Mom, I wish both of our cars would break today so that we could ride the bus. There aren’t any seat belts on buses, Mom!” Oh dear. Little does she know that if both of our cars broke down we would just stay home until they got fixed! :)
This weekend will be filled with some housecleaning and recipe testing – I’m working on a new ebook called From Garbage to Gourmet that you are going to love! It will show you how to prevent food waste and make delicious food out of things you normally throw away. My family doesn’t seem to be minding all of the random food I’m cooking in preparation for the book – yesterday, I made a big pot of “free” chicken stock, brewed some Poor Man’s Apple Cider, tested out an idea for creamy queso, and perfected a recipe for chips from leftover tortillas. Today it’s Imposter Pumpkin Squares and whatever else I can get to.
Does anyone else feel totally paralyzed by the library’s online system maintenance today?! I never thought about it, but I think I must place holds or look up something in my account almost every day. I really want to know if my Perry Mason DVD hold is available yet; that would certainly up the exciting quotient of our weekend.
Well, I hope you have a relaxing weekend! Don’t forget to turn your clocks back on Saturday night!
