Last night I was putting our TV back in the closet and thought, “Man, it sure would be nice if this thing had a carrying handle on top of it – it would be a lot easier to move around!” And then I realized that most people probably do not keep their TV in their closet and drag it out when they want to watch something. Are any of you as odd as that?
You might be wondering why we keep the TV in the closet. Well, it is mostly because we don’t watch a lot of TV. ;) (Neither of us grew up watching much TV, a habit [or would it be a non-habit?] we are very thankful to our parents for.) We’ll watch college football on Saturdays, the election, and well, that’s about it. We occasionally watch Chopped or Next Food Network Star on Hulu, and if we want to watch a DVD or a streaming movie, we use my iMac. Plus, I really hate having a TV as the focal point in the room.
Last year, I rediscovered Perry Mason and was shocked to find out that Jeremy enjoyed it, so we’ve worked through the library’s collection of Perry Mason DVDs. We just got season six so the next two weeks will be filled with more-than-usual TV-watching. :)
My midwife recently retired and I attended a surprise retirement party for her on Saturday. She was my midwife for all four children that were born here (my first was born at home, but we lived in another state) and man, I can’t even put into words how incredible it was to have a caregiver who spent so much time caring for me and my family.
Well, that’s my weekend in a nutshell! What’s happening with you and yours?
