If you are in need of a domain name or web hosting, you might want to check out Hostgator’s “end of the world” sale: you can save 50% (or as much as 75%) off their hosting packages, Friday only! This makes web hosting as little as $2.48 per month! (If you are just wanting a single website, choose the Hatchling plan; or if you are doing multiple websites with different domain names, choose the Baby plan.)

This applies to your first invoice, so you will probably want to choose to pay for it 6-36 months at a time, otherwise the discount is only on the first month if you pay monthly. Hostgator is not currently my host because I needed to move to a bigger server, but I have used them in the past and I think they are one of the best as far as cheap hosting. It’s who I recommend to anyone starting out. (I don’t normally post deals like this, but they did a sale like this on Black Friday and I had two friends that ended up buying hosting shortly after that I wish had been able to take advantage of the sale, so I thought I should mention it this time even though setting up a website is probably the last thing on your agenda!)

They are also offering domain names for $1.95, which is definitely as low as I’ve seen for domain names.
