What To Make With What’s On Sale: Cocktail Link Sausages

Published December 14, 2012 by Staff Writer in Home & Family

It’s time for your weekly What To Make With What’s On Sale!  Safeway has Hillshire Farms Cocktail Links (28 oz) for as low as $4.00 after coupon as part of their Friday deals this week (and if you load the deals to your card, you can redeem them through Sunday.)

This time of year, appetizers and party foods are everywhere, and cocktail link sausages are always a hit.  Here are some ideas and recipes for using cocktail links!

If you’re on a diet, be sure to steer clear of these Bacon-Wrapped Li’l Smokies in a Brown Sugar and Maple Glaze.  Basically all the ingredients are listed in the name, and you can guess how rich (and popular!) these little appetizers will be!

These Firehouse Jalapenos are another tasty appetizer idea.  They’re made with cocktail sausages, halved jalapenos, cream cheese, bacon, and barbecue sauce.  Yum!

Little smokies cooked in a sweet and spicy sauce are a holiday party staple.  Here are two variations: Slow Cooker Cocktail Smokies (a simple grape jelly and barbecue sauce mixture) and these Pineapple Smokies (made with brown sugar, vinegar, and pineapple juice.)

Neely’s Pigs in a Blanket recipe is basic and yummy.  It includes a tangy dipping sauce recipe, too!

Cocktail sausages are also a fun addition to dishes such as macaroni and cheese, lentil stew, or even ramen noodles!  Just cut them into halves or thirds and add them toward the end of the cooking time.

Do you have any other ideas for using cocktail link sausages?  Please share!
